About Us

Ead Samawi Foundation was established to tackle some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. With a deep commitment to aiding those affected by war, persecution, and natural disasters, our mission is to provide relief, restore dignity, and help displaced individuals rebuild their lives.

Founded with an initial endowment of 40 million Swiss francs, generously provided by our founder, we are dedicated to making a tangible and lasting impact on refugees and displaced persons across the globe.

We believe in the power of collaboration. By partnering with leading international humanitarian organizations, we ensure that aid reaches those who need it most—efficiently and effectively. Whether it’s emergency relief, long-term resettlement support, or community rebuilding initiatives, our work is centred on providing safety, stability, and the opportunity for a fresh start. – Majed Samawi

The Displacement Crisis in Numbers

Of the 43.7 million refugees in the world, 71% are hosted in low- and middle-income countries. 69% are hosted in neighbouring countries.
Of the 75.9 million internally displaced people globally, 68.3 million were displaced by conflict and violence and 7.7 million by disasters.
Children accounts for 30% of the world’s population, but 40% of all forcibly displaced people. Women have a higher rate of forcible displacement than men their own age.
There are 4.4 million stateless people, who have been denied a nationality and lack access to basic rights and lack access to basic rights such as education, health care, employment and freedom of movement.
1 in 67 people in the world has been forced to flee their home.

Projects We Support

Through strategic partnerships, we fund critical relief efforts for individuals who have lost everything—their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones. Our projects focus on:

  • Emergency Assistance: Providing immediate aid such as food, shelter, and medical care.
  • Long-Term Support: Helping refugees integrate, gain employment, and access education.
  • Community Rebuilding: Restoring infrastructure and fostering sustainable growth in affected regions.
